Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator – Full Time

The volunteer and outreach coordinator oversees volunteer recruitment and management, as well as the clinic’s outreach efforts pertaining to community events, fundraising activities, and digital communication/marketing.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee and manage all volunteer activities and supervise volunteers as necessary.
  • Ensure volunteers adhere to clinic policies and procedures and all activities are completed in a manner consistent with clinic’s quality of work standards.
  • Recruit and train new volunteers.
  • Implement and manage on-going volunteer orientation.
  • Create programs to encourage volunteerism and recognize volunteer efforts.
  • Communicate with external and internal audiences to ensure awareness of upcoming events and social media promotions.
  • Create and post social-media content that is mission-related, and reflects positively on FACE, its staff, volunteers, and partners.
  • Work closely with clinic staff to collect and document stories about our life-saving work and impact within the community for social media and other relevant formats.
  • Working closely with marketing and development staff, create regular eNewsletters and organizational updates to be shared with external audiences via email, social media, and other relevant formats.
  • Support outreach efforts by leading and managing FACE’s participation in community events that raise awareness and support of FACE and its mission.
  • Maintain budget for volunteers, events, and programs.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other individuals, companies, and organizations as they relate to FACE and its efforts.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Works cooperatively with all team members.
  • Report to work on time, and ready to work.
  • Provide prompt, attentive, and friendly customer service in-person and by phone.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, events management, marketing or related field.
  • Prior management/recruitment of staff and/or volunteers.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Working experience with Microsoft office suite. Donor and/or volunteer database experience strongly preferred.

Schedule will not exceed 35 hours weekly. This position will require regular evening and weekend hours.  Full-time employees receive health/dental insurance and vacation; we also offer uniforms and a 403b.  Please submit your cover letter and resume to Jen Hancock by February 16. eoe

Veterinary Assistant – Full Time

FACE Low-Cost Animal Clinic is seeking an energetic team player to join our team. The veterinary assistant provides support to the veterinarians and veterinary technicians in our high-volume clinic, with a focus on assisting with the delivery of high-quality care and ensuring the safety and well-being of the patients in our medical and vaccination clinic.  At least three years of experience working as a veterinary assistant, fluent in Spanish is a plus.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during appointments in medical and vaccine clinic, while adhering to the clinic’s safety and wellness protocols.
    • Prepare exam room.
    • Assist with prioritizing patient flow.
    • Gather medical history.
    • Provide patient restraint during examination using approved techniques.
    • Calm and soothe anxious patients.
    • Gather medication.
    • Discharge patient to front office team.
    • Assist with client communication and follow-up.
    • Clean exam room.
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during treatments.
    • Nail trims, blood draws, ear cleaning, etc.
    • Assist with lab work.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Stock exam rooms.
  • Change trash in exam rooms.
  • General cleaning duties (moping, dusting, etc.).
  • Works cooperatively with all team members.
  • Report to work daily, on time, and ready to work.
  • Provide prompt, attentive, and friendly customer service in-person and by phone.
  • Other duties as assigned by Service Manager.

Schedule will not exceed 40 hours. Typical workdays for this position may include Monday – Friday 9:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturdays 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Full-time employees receive health/dental insurance and vacation; we also offer uniforms and a 403b.  Please submit your cover letter and resume to Jen Hancock by December 15. eoe
